The celebrated Iranian musician Hossein Alizadeh is slated to accompany the Zarbang percussion ensemble on a European concert tour.

The concerts will offer a beautiful combination of traditional percussion instruments such as Daf and Tonbak accompanied by Alizadeh’s Tar, a traditional Persian stringed instrument.

Hossein Alizadeh is one of Iran’s most influential musicians. He was nominated for the 2007 Grammy Award for his ‘The Endless Vision’ album on which he collaborated with Armenian musician Djivan Gasparyan.

The Zarbang ensemble, consisting of members Behnam Samani, Reza Samani, Javid Afsari Rad, Hakim Ludin, Morshed Mehregan, and Pejman Haddadi, will start their tour on Nov. 1st, 2008 in Germany and go on to Norway and the Netherlands.

Based in Germany, the group is led by Pejman Haddadi, who has been described by KPFA Radio and Rhythm Magazine as the ‘finest Iranian percussionist in the West’.
